Workshop - Springtime Topwater Bass & Luk Lake Fishout

About this event

Put your bobbers away! Have you wondered about fly fishing beyond the world of trout? Like maybe largemouth bass? Most of us know Luk Lake as a trophy sized trout fishery, but is also an amazing springtime largemouth bass fishery.

This will be a great introduction for pursuing largemouth bass using 7-8wt fly rods with bass flies and poppers that resemble frogs. This workshop will be a primer for spring bass fishing and the upcoming Luk Lake Fishout on April 18th-19th. You do not need to be going to the fishout to attend the workshop or learn something new.

We will be discussing:

· Why fish for bass in the spring?

· Equipment you will need (Rod, line and leaders)

· Bass fly patterns: Dahlberg Diver, Rainy’s Ratllin’ Popper, and more

· Techniques for “Lilypad fishing” and additional stillwater techniques

There will be follow up Luk Lake pre-fishout meeting on the April 3rd workshop that will cover:

· Bass flies provided for the trip

· Building you own bass leaders (materials provided)

· Doctoring up the Dalhberg Diver to improve its movement in the water

John Murphy (Fishout Leader) and John Chung will be leading the workshops
