Yuba River Private Water Fishout | January 31 & February 1, 2026
=> Registration begins December 5th at 12pm/noon.
The University of California Regents have granted us access to their private water. This PFF fishout is a great opportunity to fish exclusively for 2 days with other members of the club. Sausage and or hot dog lunch will be provided on Saturday. Be sure to bring plenty of water for this event. The private section has a nice covered picnic area with tables and BBQ's. Private restrooms are next to the parking area. This Fishout will be limited to 12 members.
Registration:
Registration for ALL members begins December 5, 2025 at noon.
Cost:
$60 per angler for 2 days of fishing, lunch on Saturday is included. Maximum fishers are limited to 12 rods.
Experience Required:
Intermediate to advanced fly fishing and wading skills for this outing.
Fishout Leaders:

Gear Recommendations:
• Single hand rods - 5-6 wt. fly rod for indicators, dries, and streamers.
• Euro rods - 3-4 wt.
• Trout Spey - 3-4 wt. (there may be swinging opportunities).
• Appropriate flies
• Waders, wading boots, and wading staff
• Net
Please pack for cold days, possibly rain, hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, and rain jacket. Don't forget your California Fishing License and Steelhead Report Card.
Lodging Suggestions:
This is a two day fishout, 1/31-2/1. Due to driving distance from the SF Bay Area it is recommended to stay in a near by location. The is no (car) camping allowed on the property for this fishout.

Directions:
From Marysville, heading out of Marysville toward Oroville, you will make a right off of B Street (hwy. 20/70) onto highway 20, at that point it is 14.2 miles to Peoria Rd. Make a left on Peoria Rd. and follow the road (it goes to the right) and then turns into Scott Forbes. From Highway 20 to the gate is approximately 3.9 miles. If you miss the gate on the right side you will eventually run into the UC buildings on the left – turn around and go back. Yuba River Private water map
Meeting time: 7AM at the Gate. You will receive information/code by email for the gate prior to the fishout date.
Food and Drink Schedule:
• Friday - No dinner plans
• Saturday - PFF is providing a BBQ sausage and / or hot dog lunch. No dinner plans
• Sunday - Optional breakfast meet at Lumberjacks in Yuba City. No lunch plans
• This event is BYOB.
Additional Notes:
• If all the planets align (weather, flows, etc.) we might be right at the start of the Skwala hatch.
• This is the weekend before the Superbowl - go out fishing!
