Workshop - Fly Fishing Tips & Tricks and Tying The Hoh Bo Spey Fly
About this event
FLY FISHING TIPS AND TRICKS with John Murphy and TYING THE HOH BO SPEY FLY with Chris Willard
Don’t miss this double billing.
Come join us for an evening of (hopefully) enjoyment and (possibly) enlightenment as we explore and share some tips and tricks related to fly fishing gear set-up, maintenance, and other tips to improve your casting or enjoyment of fly fishing as hosted by John Murphy. While some of these may be basic and known to you, others may prove to be new and of special interest to you. Since we’re targeting all levels of experience, you’ll also be encouraged to share your own tips and tricks in this interactive workshop.
If you would rather tie flies, please join Chris Willard tying the Hoh Bo Spey. (Registration requested)
The Hob Bo Spey fly is a favorite Steelhead fly for California and Oregon coastal rivers. This fly features an articulated hook (i.e. hook separated from the fly shank), and techniques to expand the profile of a fairly light fly. It can be tied in many different color combinations and variations.
This is a low to moderate difficulty tie, although in keeping with our times one can always find ways to add complexity. Materials will be provided but you’ll need to bring your vice and tools. There is no charge for the class but we ask that you register in advance so Chris will be sure to have sufficient materials.
